Lime Dream

“I have always loved modified cars,” said owner Mike Foxwell. “When I first saw the 350Z I know I had to get one. It took a while for me to get it, but finally pulled the trigger in 2006. It started off slowly and then to mod bug bit, and bit hard. I was only going to do wheels and a spoiler, but then you find it hard to stop. I wanted something that I liked and that was different from everyone else's 350Zs with a blend of sound and style.”

Yes, you have seen this particular hue before. It isn’t coincidence that you are thinking, hey isn’t that the lime paint from the…uh…what’s it called? For those of you on the ball, it’s the lime green from the Dodge Charger applied to one best selling Japanese sports cars of all time – the 350Z. The project started as something simple but, like many of our builds, just spiraled out of control.

“Everyone thinks it says ‘LimeyZ’ on my tag because the car is green, but that is not why,” according to Foxwell. “It's because I'm from England and ‘Limey’ is a slang term for English people. I had the same tag on the car when it was stock white.”

As for the controversial color, it was an easy decision for Foxwell. Although people may think his license plate is referring to the color, only partially. “Everyone thinks it says ‘LimeyZ’ on my tag because the car is green, but that is not why,” according to Foxwell. “It's because I'm from England and ‘Limey’ is a slang term for English people. The body was fitted with some high-end parts to get the look Foxwell was after. The body mods started with a 820868366_VByqq-O_thC-West carbon fiber lip kit from Japan fitted up to the car. The fenders were then modified by Blue's Kustoms and a Nismo V2 carbon fiber spoiler was added along with a Seibon TS-style carbon fiber hood. A few finishing touches like shaved antennas, smoked tails and masked headlights complete the look.

With only a ‘Pop Charger” intake and a Tanabe exhaust added to the VQ, the focus shifted to the footwork. A set of TEIN springs were added in addition to slotted rotors all around. Foxwell sourced a set of Axis GT-R wheels in 20x9-inch fronts with 20x10.5-inch rears. The Axis wheels are wrapped in Hankook Ventus V12 tires measuring 255/30R20 in the front with a fat 295/30R20 rear.
